Are Kit Digital applications open in 2026?

Short answer, checked on 16 October 2026: Red.es’ official calendar does not show a Kit Digital voucher call open for new applications. The calls page says its data was last updated on 13 October 2026 and records Calls I–V as closed. Calls I and II closed on 31 December 2024, Call V on 30 June 2025, and Calls III and IV on 31 October 2025. Later deadlines to deliver or justify an awarded voucher do not reopen applications.

That does not mean the programme has vanished. Order TDF/39/2026 keeps the bases applicable until funds are exhausted, provides for reinvestment of unused funds, and permits new calls where appropriate. That is a provision in the framework, not an open call or a promised date.

What “open” means

For an SME, “open” means a call exists for its segment, with a live deadline, budget, requirements and an application button on the official channel. The Kit Digital brand being active, agents appearing in a catalogue, or a commercial site saying “claim your grant” proves none of those conditions.

Keep three situations separate: a call to apply for a voucher; delivery or justification of a voucher already granted; and the onboarding of digitalising agents or advisers. An agent continuing to work, or a pending justification being processed, does not open a new application window.

What the official record says

Red.es’ calls page lists five calls and their closing dates. Call V, for businesses with 50 to fewer than 250 employees, closed on 30 June 2025. Calls III and IV, which included self-employed people and certain entities without legal personality, closed on 31 October 2025. The page’s data was updated on 13 October 2026 and it lists no sixth call for new applications.

The order published as BOE-A-2026-2070 matters: the bases continue to apply to grants called until funds run out, and Red.es must reinvest unused funds within the programme. The text permits new calls; it does not announce one.

C012/26-IA is not an SME voucher

A separate Red.es invitation runs from 9 September to 10 November 2026: C012/26-IA selects entities or groups with which Red.es may sign agreements to develop AI use cases and make an AI platform available as a service to startups and SMEs. Its maximum announced budget is €40 million. Red.es’ contribution is capped at €12 million per agreement and, in any case, 80% of the agreement’s total value.

Direct applicants include legally constituted and registered professional or business associations, and technology or innovation-support centres entered in the relevant register, with objectives or activity related to AI or SME competitiveness and subject to the other formal requirements. An ordinary SME cannot apply here for an individual voucher. It may later use services offered through a selected agreement, but access and funding are not guaranteed. Check the official C012/26-IA requirements and deadline; this invitation is separate from Kit Digital beneficiary calls.

What to check before believing an announcement

1. Open Red.es’ calls page and note its update date.
2. Find the resolution in the BOE and check the segment, amount, deadline and budget.
3. Use the electronic office linked by Red.es, not an agency’s lead form.
4. Check whether the notice is for beneficiaries or collaborating entities. They are different procedures.
5. Save the resolution you checked; a commercial promise does not replace it.

If you already have a voucher

The absence of a new call does not necessarily stop an awarded file. Review your resolution, agreement deadlines and justification in the Red.es electronic office. Ask the agent for deliverables, training, evidence and dates in writing. Ongoing delivery is not the same thing as a new call.

When no call is open: a checklist for a private purchase

Hiring privately is optional. This checklist helps define a project and compare offers; it does not imply public funding, eligibility, or approval under a programme.

1. Name an owner and record a baseline. Identify who understands the current process and note how it works today: volume, steps, time, known errors, and systems involved. Do not invent a number; record a baseline the team can observe.
2. Bound the outcome and acceptance check. Choose one workflow, define what must be completed and which cases are out of scope, and say how the result will be checked. Name who accepts the work and what evidence they need.
3. Separate the full cost. Ask for setup, integration, recurring subscriptions or model and service usage, maintenance, support, and staff review time as separate lines. Ask what could change each line and what is excluded.
4. Agree data access and exit. Write down what data is used, where it is processed, who can access it, how long it is kept, how it can be exported, and what happens to copies at the end. Request the delivery format, documentation, access transfer, and exit support.
5. Compare offers on equal terms. Give each provider the same scope, schedule, dependencies, and acceptance criteria. Record assumptions and exclusions before comparing price.
